Panagiotis Moulos

Panagiotis Moulos is a bioinformatician with strong computational, mathematical and statistical backgrounds and rich experience in research as well as scientific software development. He holds a PhD in Bioinformatics from the School of Chemical Engineering, NTUA, Athens, Greece, a MSc in Bioinformatics from ULB, Brussels, Belgium and a diploma in Applied Mathematics and Physics from NTUA, Athens, Greece. Among others, his research interests include the computational and statistical analysis of high-throughput genomics, proteomics and metabolomics data, relative software development and focus on the construction of analytic workflows for efficient data analysis. He is also interested in the application of Machine Learning techniques to high-throughput biological data with focus on dimensionality reduction and feature selection stability issues. Panagiotis has (co)written many scientific publication regarding in the above domains and has created several biological data analysis software packages. He has held R&D positions in Greece, France and the Netherlands.

Efthimios Bothos

Efthimios is an Electrical and Computer Engineer with strong experience in the design and implementation of large scale information systems. He holds a a PhD in Computer Science, a MSc in Business Administration and a diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research focuses on social computing, on knowledge management and big data analysis. In addition, he designs and explores the properties of computational systems that support social behaviour as well as systems that aggregate computations carried out by large groups of people. Efthimios is the (co)author of several publications in the above domains. He has held R&D and management positions in Siemens and Nokia, worked as a senior researcher and secured and managed research projects of over €1M.

David Tatton, has over 20 years experience in Renewable Energy, IT Services, Finance and Banking. He has successful and proven skills in Sales Execution, Venture and Project Finance, C level Corporate Business Development, Consultancy, Project Development and establishing New Operations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Studies and Finance. He has successful and proven skills in Sales Execution, Venture and Project Finance, C level Corporate Business Development, Consultancy, Project Development and establishing New Operations. Having travelled extensively through his business activities in Northern Europe, Southern Europe, North America and Asia, he has a very well established network of industry contacts within the Solar PV industry, Utilities, Finance and International Retailers. He has collaborated with multinational companies in the above domains including Oracle and the Royal Bank of Scotland. David looks to use his expertise in corporate business development by supporting either an established organization or a new entrant with their development activities, to help this organization get traction rapidly and profitably.

Marielena Georgaki

Marielena Georgaki

Bioinformatics engineer

Marielena Georgaki, holds a MSc in Bioinformatics and a diploma in Computer Science from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Her research interests focus on the development of computational tools in order to facilitate the analysis and the interpretation of data derived from Next Generation Sequencing, and specifically techniques focused on the detection and identification of polymorphisms. She is involved in the design and development of Relational databases in MySQL as well as non-relational NoSQL databases in order to organize multiple heterogeneous biological data.

Christine Koutsothanassis

Christine Koutsothanassis

Computational biologist

Christine Koutsothanassis, holds a MSc in Bioinformatics and a degree in Biology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, School of Science. Her research interests include analyzing and interpreting high throughput genomic data from next generation sequencing technologies and associating genetic polymorphisms with multifactorial disorders. Christina Koutsothanassis is the lead author in a publication that resulted from the research in her undergraduate thesis. Also, she has worked as a bioinformatician in the Biomedical Sciences Research Center “Alexander Fleming”.
